2. Now create your own Voki character at http://www.voki.com .  You can either record your own voice or type in a response for Voki to convert to speaking.  Talk about where you are from- describe your city so we can guess.  Please include:

                            a. Your name

                           b. A sentence or two about your city/country (don't say the name of the city/country)

                           c. Where you think I am from: Example: "Sandy is from_____________"

3. After you create your VOKI character, add to our Wiki site.  Here is how to add;

                           a. Get the embed code from the VOKI site

                           b. On our class Wiki site, go to VOKI page

                           c. Click on "edit"

                           e. From the top tool bar, click on the half arrow next to the word "insert"

                           f. Click on "HTML/JavaScript" and insert where it says "enter code here" and click "Next"

                           g. Click on "insert plugin".  You will see the code only in the table box

                           h. Click "save" and your VOKI will appear for all to listen to

Task 1

1. Click on the Lingro link to access the site.

2. Copy and paste the url: http://allaboutstevejobs.com/bio/short/short.html into the URL bar next to the number 1.  Select your language for translation or choose the English dictionary.

3. Each person in your group of three will read one section of the bio using Lingro (choose from Youth, the Next Years, and Comeback)

As you read, think about the important facts from the article.  You will share these with your group as you complete the next task.

Task 2

Web 2.0 Tool: CAST UDL Bookbuilder

1. Go to the CAST site, create an account (free), and login to the site.

2. Once logged in you will create a book with your group using facts from the Steve Jobs bio to put together a time line of his life.  Use the text to voice features and add images to illustrate the facts.  Remember: make sure the facts appear in sequential order and use cohesive devices such as first (second, third, etc.), next, then, after that, in the end etc.   See the attached rubric for completion requirements.  You can be as creative as you like.

Here is a book I created on Netiquette as an example.  You can access from this url: http://bookbuilder.cast.org/view.php?op=view&book=5922&page=5  or do a search by author: Wagner
